We at BGMS believe that the first 3 years of a child’s life are critical to the development of the emerging “person”. Our Infant Program is grounded in the bond between child/ parent and teacher. These relationships build the trust the child needs to develop a sense of self and well-being. Our teachers respectfully meet each baby’s physical, social and emotional needs. We strive to be 100% present in the moment as we interact with complete attentiveness and purpose. We help the baby feel happily connected to the teacher. We then introduce the larger “world” as we move forward and explore the environment together. We practice the principles of “follow the child” in the classroom. We observe each child and ascertain needs. Each baby has his/her own routine for eating, sleeping and exploring. We provide a wide variety of experiences throughout the day including cognitive activities, sensory materials, and language acquisition that provide stimulation, exercise and a sense of wonder. The teachers promote language development by singing songs, reading books and talking about all that is seen, heard or touched, in short happening.
